Sports Day 2016

Pre-Primary Section celebrated its 7th Sports Day on Saturday, 23rd January, 2016 on the school ground. Our chief guest Dr. Kishore Shankar Nikam opened the meet at 8:45am.

He is the assistant professor and HOD of Dept. of Commerce. He is an eminent member of Padma Shree Dr. D.Y. Patil Arts, Commerce & Science College Pimpri, Pune. The program began with Lighting of Torch by our State and National Level Athletes. This was followed by ‘March Past’. It was indeed a fascinating sight to see our smart and energetic small wonders walking to the drumbeats and to the captivating music played by our school band. Jr.KG children greeted everyone with their exercises.

These students added beauty and grace to the drill by using simple props in the form of smileys in their hands. Our little ones believe that a warm smile is the universal language of kindness. Sr.KG children inspired everyone by performing contemporary Yoga. They know yoga at an early age can help them learn healthy lifestyle habits and set the foundation for a fit future. The girls of Class II displayed the yogic technique- Surya Namaskar. With this they expressed gratitude to the Sun that is the source of energy to all forms of life on the planet.

Gymnastics display by our young ones showed their coordination and kinesthetic skills. Our strong tiny tots from Jr.KG and Sr.KG showed the basics of Karate ie. Kihon. They demonstrated the striking techniques, punches and kicks. The kids showcased their competitive spirit by participating in the novelty races. Parents also showed their enthusiasm and strength by taking part in ‘Tug of War’. The programme ended with Aarushi Pawar and Diksha Gupta playing the National anthem on the sitar

It was a wonderful, enjoyable and energetic morning! We the members of VPMS believe that the strength of the team is each individual member and the strength of each member is the team.
