Republic Day Celebrations at VPMS Lohegaon
Patriotism is love of country, But you can’t love your country without loving your countrymen and countrywomen, We don’t always have to agree, but we must empower each other, we must find the common ground, we must build bridges across our differences to pursue the common good.
The above-mentioned notion was so aptly illustrated on 26th Jan 2019 at Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Lohegaon on the propitious occasion of 70th Republic Day celebration.
The occasion was graced by Sr. Lucy Kurien, founder of MAHER home for the destitute accompanied by Mangesh Pol. It was indeed pleasure to have Christina Lendorfer from Vienna, Austria and the students from France under the student exchange program to witness the celebration of India’s Republic Day- the land of diversity bonded by love and affection.
The ground and campus was buzzing with patriotic vibrations of zealous groups of children, parents, guests and staff ahead of the Republic Day proceedings.
The program began with unfurling of our national Tricolour by Sr Lucy supported with cheers and this was followed by the beautiful song and dance performance by the students.
The gathering witnessed the felicitation of Awards to the meritorious students of the academic session 2017-18, for their outstanding achievements in various academic spheres. The celebration was brightened up when the State and National level players were felicitated for their respective sports.
The event was concluded by a promise from the budding stars of Vikhe Patil to reach to the zenith and contribute to the creation of new India.
