Industrial visit to Kisan Fair

Dr.Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Pravara Centre for Management Research and Development (P.C.M.R.D.) organized Industrial visit to KISAN on 15TH December, 2017. The M.B.A. First Year students along with Prof.Vijay Deshmukh and Dr.Divya Lakhani had a great opportunity to visit the largest exhibit gathering of the nation.

The objective of this visit was to understand and experience the present and future of Indian Agriculture. No other trade fair attracts so many farmers or such a large number of Agri-Professionals not only from India but also from abroad. The Farming community and Agriculture industry have supported KISAN in its journey for 25years. In 1993, KISAN was started with a belief “Access to information & knowledge will transform farming into a vibrant profession.” KISAN has witnessed farmers inculcating innovative thoughts & technologies in their farm and harvesting benefits over the years. They have acquainted themselves with the most advanced technologies and also developed appropriate practices using the knowledge gained. Now, they are trying to cope with their growing hunger for knowledge and aspiration to seek out opportunities in the ever-changing world.

KISAN was a 5day event from 13-17december, where 500+ Companies made fruitful connection with above 150,000 Farmers across the nation, this makes KISAN the best platform for agriculture companies to come, connect and conquer the business opportunities. It is great opportunity to learn which directions the industry is going in. Not only can you learn about the farming community but also learn about your competitors.

Being a part of the largest gathering of India’s farming community, the students experienced that at KISAN they don’t just do business, but they also play a leading role in initiating new trends, seeding fresh ideas and setting newer benchmarks for Indian Agriculture. The students were made aware of the new technology and techniques of farming which reduces times required and human intervention.
