India, “Green and Wild” Rally
Continuing with our concern and duty towards social causes and initiatives, VPMS Lohegaon participated in an all India drive “India-Green and Wild” on 19 January 2019 to create awareness and sensitize students and the citizens on the need to value and protect our environment.
A group of 32 students of classes VII-VIII along with their Principal Ms Vinutha Ronurkar, teachers and few support staff took out a rally around six societies of Dhanori area- Goodwill Orchid, Shree Hans Garden, Palladium Grand, Tirupati Vasantam, Amba Nagari and Lakshmi Township. The effort of the students could be seen in the making of placard and banners and the zest and zeal they showed in carrying them and chanting the slogans. Students also performed a “Nukkad Natak” on the same concept to spread awareness about the need to conserve water and food, maintaining cleanliness, and conserving our fauna and flora.
The students encouraged the people in these societies to take a pledge along with them that they would be more responsible in their activities toward saving the Earth and act as more mature global citizens. They thus succeeded in making all realize that they have ethical obligations of saving the planet Earth and we, as individuals need to be more holistic and ecological in our approach.
Members from each of the above mentioned societies addressed the students and applauded their initiative. As a token of love and appreciation, students got chocolates at Palladium Grand Society and biscuits and bananas at Lokpriya Nagari.
All in all, the entire event served a quadruple purpose – to educate the youth, contribution to the betterment of nature, skill development and introspection.
