Independence Day at VPMS Lohegaon

On 15th August, 2017, we celebrated the 71st Independence Day in the school premises. After the breakfast, students assembled near the school entrance for the prayer and unfurling of the national flag. The Guests of Honour, Nandini Madam and Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Chande was escorted by the student council to unfurl the flag. This was followed by the national anthem.

Soon after this the students assembled in the multipurpose hall for the rest of the program which comprised of patriotic group dance and group song competition. The program was compeered by Sandra Ann John, the Head girl and Shrishti Chavan of std. IX.

After the general welcome, there was thought for the day and news. Diksha Gupta of Std. IX recited a poem and the speech describing the importance of Independence Day was orated by Beulah Benjamin of Std. X. Then there was introduction of the chief guest Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Chande with a floral welcome.

The later part of the programme started with the patriotic group dance competition in which the students from Std. 3 to 5 participated. First to perform was the Sapphire house followed by Coral, Emerald and Ruby. The students performed very brilliantly and gave the other teams a tough competition. Each and every house performed with lot of enthusiasm and spread the different colours and mood of independence. All the performances were splendid.

After the dance there was group song competition for the students of Std. 6 to 10. All the houses sang very nicely. There was a perfect coordination among the students of each group. There was a perfect presentation and coordination of music, art and computer technology. Most of the houses had the PowerPoint presentation along with singing.

Thereafter, the assembly was addressed by the Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Chande and our Principal Mrs. Vinutha Ronurkar. Mrs. Kaur Chande also sang for us two songs, one in Punjabi and other in Hindi. She also made th students sing along with her. The results of the competitions were declared by Nandini Madam. It was followed by the presentation of Vote of Thanks by the Head Boy, Pratham Shenwai.

The excellent back drop for the event was designed and made by our Art teacher Mr. Deepak Jadhav. It was indeed an mesmerizing and extravagant program, well planned, coordinated and executed to perfection.
