Guest Lecture on “Financial Awareness Programme”

The Speaker : Mr. Sudhakar Kulkarni, , Certified Financial Planner

PCMRD conducted a guest lecture on the topic “Financial Awareness” on 27th September 2014.

The guest for the session was Mr. Sudhakar Kulkarni, Certified Financial Planner. The session began with a warm welcome and felicitation and a brief introduction of the guest by a MBA II year student. Mr. Kulkarni briefed upon various financial investment avenues such as capital market, real estates, company deposits, long term Debt, Bank deposits, Electronic Gold, Antiques etc.

Mr. Sudhakar Kulkarni also enlightened us on the insurance sector and pin pointed the important points in investment with respect to today’s economic scenario. He cleared some myths related to financial investments and also focused on the initial risk analysis before investing into any avenues for getting maximum revenues. He also provided with the knowledge about the bank loans, taxes and the awareness about the Ponzi schemes. The overall session was very informative and interactive as Mr. Kulkarni cleared many doubts related to financial market.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by a student of MBA IInd year.

Guest Lecture on “Cyber Crime- A Global Scenario”


A guest lecture was organized for the students of MBA Ist year and IInd year. I was held on 14th October 2014.

The Speakers were Mr. Ashley Eates and Mr. Manas Krishna.

Their topic for discussion was Cyber Crime- A Global Scenario.

Mr Ashley Eates is the Chief Education Officer of Asian School of Cyber Laws.

They covered various aspects of the usage of a computer, as an instrument to further illegal ends, such as committing fraud, trafficking in child pornography and intellectual property, stealing identities, or violating privacy. According to him Cyber crime, especially through the Internet, has grown in importance as the computer has become central to commerce, entertainment, and government.

He also discussed about the offences that are committed against individuals or groups of individuals with a criminal motive to intentionally harm the reputation of the victim or cause physical or mental harm to the victim directly or indirectly, using modern telecommunication networks such as Internet (Chat rooms, emails, notice boards and groups) and mobile phones (SMS/MMS).

They concluded their session by giving live examples of the Cyber Crime Investigations undertaken by their institute under the heads Hacking, Child Pornography, Cyber Stalking, Virus Dissemination, Software Piracy, IRC Crime, Credit Card Fraud, Phishing etc.

Guest Lecture on “Leadership”


A guest lecture on Leadership was organized by PCMRD on 25th August 2014 by Mr. Agalgatti.

He explained the concept of leadership style and how to identify its key influences. He stressed on the balance between focus on task and focus on people and that the balance should change according to the given situation.

He also discussed the benefits of being flexible and the importance of emotional Intelligence. According to him IE is linked with two parameters- Personal and social competence. Emotional Intelligence is claimed to be the most significant factor in becoming an effective leader.

The lecture was delivered to the audience of MBA 1st year and 2nd year students. Overall it was an effective and informative session.

Guest Lecture on “Career opportunities in Marketing”


DRVPF’s PCMRD organized a guest lecture on Career opportunities in Marketing. It was scheduled on the 13th of Feb’14. Students had Mr. Sunil Kumar, Director at Education Vertical, Bharti Airtel as the speaker on the subject. He spoke on various aspects related to marketing & sales and getting in pitch with the field. As for the freshers he highlighted the structure of an organization in respect to the posts in this field. He explained how and when a fresher can enter this hive at various stages ranging from a Sales Officer to an ASM.

Mr. Kumar was primarily focusing on elaborating the major aspects which the student should consider in choosing a career in marketing and sales.

As he quoted “the next big thing is nothing but ample of career opportunities in sales and marketing”. He also added “take an industry from the smallest to the biggest this is a field where there is never a saturation assuring a bright career”. This is the right time for the aspiring to make their chance.

He assured the students that there is ample of opportunity for a brighter career all we need is just the right guidance and most importantly the required competence. Competency is nothing but having the exact knowledge of a chosen path of career. He asked the students to choose one or maximum two fields which they think they can contribute the best because “if we do what we love, then and then will we love what we do”

On a thanking note Mr. Kumar confronted the students Industry majors like HUL, IOCL, GODREJ, TOI, VODAFONE, AIRTEL, etc. have a potential to absorb this competence, what is required is just developing this competence. He closed the session by saying these words “If you have the competence within you then for you sky is the limit”

Guest Lecture on “Impact of Advertisement on the corporate Scenario”


Mr. Shreyas Bangad, Creator and Director of BrandMatterz conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic ‘Impact of Advertisement on the corporate Scenario’ on 14th September 2013.

Mr. Bangad has an experience of 10 years in strategic brand building and brand positioning, design management, account planning, marketing communication, advertising, media planning and project management amongst others. He has handled brands such as Axis Bank, Atlas Copco, Coca-Cola, DSK Group, Nirlep etc.

He enthralled the audience with his talk on ‘advertisements’. He discussed a few examples on the impact created by the advertisements on the society and consumers, in general. He also emphasized on how the advertisement helps in decision making process.

The advertisements and the way it is packaged in different forms with the same underlying message was emphasized by him. Hence, it is important that each advertisement should have a message to reach the target audience.

Guest Lecture on “Corporate Career Ladder & Competency’’


PCMRD conducted a guest lecture on the topic “Corporate Career Ladder & Competency” on 31st August 2013 at seminar hall. The guest for the session was Mr. Prashant Nimbalkar, Founder Director of World Wide Makers BC, Pune. The session began with a warm welcome and a brief introduction of the guest by MBA II year student. The felicitation of guest was done by Ms. Sadhna Kumari. Mr. Prashant Nimbalkar conducted an interactive session with the students of PCMRD regarding career ladder & competency. He briefed upon various important cadres in organisation such as management, staff, work, trainee, apprentice etc. He said a very interesting sentence which was very important “I forget what was taught to me, But I remember very well what I have learned” He said that being competent plays a vital role in establishing yourself at your working place.

The competencies are generally categorised as per grades and are created for every position in the organisation. Also provided knowledge about the skills which are required in the management- senior, middle & junior for being competent. The session was knowledgeable & interactive as it helped the students. The session concluded with a vote of thanks and enthusiasm and zeal among all the students to reach greater heights of the knowledge.

Guest Lecture on “Expectations of Corporates from the Budding MBA’s”


PCMRD conducted a guest lecture on the topic “Expectations of Corporates from the Budding MBA’s” On 24th August 2013, at seminar hall. The guest for the session was Mr Dominic Mendonca, Divisional Manager (HR) Retired, Tata Motors, Pune. The session began with a warm welcome and a brief introduction of the guest by MBA I Year student. The felicitation of guest was done by Dr.Puja Bhardwaj, In-charge Director; PCMRD.Mr.Domnic conducted an interactive session with the students of PCMRD regarding the expectations of corporates from the budding MBA’s. He said a very interesting sentence which was very important “corporates look for professionals and not scholars”.

Mr.Domnic also enlightens about to gain knowledge from the point of view of applying it to business. He mentioned how students should remain updated with current industry trends. He stressed how important the English language is and also how important written and verbal communications are. The last two points he mentioned were being proactive regarding interview formalities and getting adequate industry exposure.
