Founder’s Day Celebrations 2014

At 9.00 a.m. the students of Std. IX – XII, teachers, Principal Mrs. Charles, V.Principal Mrs. Jadhav and Coordinator Mrs. Naik assembled in the Seminar Hall.

The programme began with the Hindi Prayer ‘Agyanke andherose hame …..’. Pratik Ronghe, the prefect on duty of Std. IX explained the thought ‘Visionary people face the same problems everyone else faces but rather than get paralyzed by their problems, visionaries immediately commit themselves to finding a solution’.  A tribute to our Founder late Padmashree Patil was paid by Mrs. Gambhir through her speech.

Akanksha Bhosle, a student of Std. XI A threw light on Padmashree’s life through her forceful speech.

The programme was followed by the ‘ Bharud’ presented by the students of Std. IX –  Malhar Satre and Atharv Prabhu  and Mansi, Ria and  Shreshtha of Std.VIII. Prathamesh, Smit and Prasad were on Tabla for Taal.

The ‘Bharud highlighted the burning issues as  the famine, natural calamities, brutal exploitation by traders, moneylenders  and private factories had all conspired to nearly destroy the peasantry in Deccan Area in Maharashtra in the early decades of 20th Century. At that time Vitthalrao rescued the small farmers from the calamity. The Bharud was written and guided by Mrs. Gambhir. The ‘Bharud’ was appreciated by one and all.

At 9.40 the much awaited debate ‘Social Networking Sites: Boon or Bane’ started. Two teams of Std XI and XII consisting of five members each spoke very well including the rebuttal round. The participants were Parth M., Shivani, Tanya, Rohin, Jay, Pradymna, Neha, Shagun, Shrigouri and Nisha.

At the end they gave their valuable inputs to our students.  Mohini  Rana, the Head Girl presented the ‘Thank you’ cards to the judges. Principal Mrs. Charles also gave some positive suggestions. Mr. Umashankar, the  H.O.D. English Department guided the students for the debate. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

We had Camlin Drawing Competition for the students of Std. I – VIII. Mrs. Anuradha Dangre and Rizwana Shaikh, our Art Faculty and all the Class Teachers helped for this competition.

We highly appreciate the presence of all the students, teachers and staff members who came to pay the tribute to late Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, though it was a Sunday.

Founder’s Day Celebration ( Junior Block)

The day started with the students gathering in the Multi Purpose Hall for the assembly. After the prayers, the Co-ordinator, Mrs. Sheetal Upadhye, gave an informative talk on the importance of the day.

She started with the thought for the day that said –

“FAILURES turn into SUCCESS when…

the I turns into WE and when

COMPETITION turns into CO OPERATION”.

The thought for the day was elucidated by a short story based on the life of Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. Through the story,  the children were made aware of not only our founder father’s life and his work but also the qualities that we need to imbibe from him – by being industrious, simple, selfless service  to others etc. The story and the thought were both strung together so that the students should be able to understand better. The talk culminated by reminding the students of the ‘thought for the day’.

Thereafter, Sai Patayeet, a Std VIII student presented a povada – musical based on the life of Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. The students went back to their classes and participated in the ‘Camlin Drawing Competition’ where they were also served snacks.
