Swayam the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of P.C.M.R.D strives to nurture aspiring Entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurship development programs organized by the Institute immensely benefits the students to build their confidence to opt for start ups. This is an effective initiative taken every year by the Institute and students.
One of the indications of success of Swayam is that our students have become successful Entrepreneurs and have been creating employment opportunities to the people.
In continuation to this mission Entrepreneurship Development Workshop was organized on 25th January 2017.
The speakers for the program were Dr.D.G.Deshkar (Retired Principal), Dr. Babsaheb Ambedkar College of Arts and Commerce, Aurangabad, Mr.Amit Singh-CEO, Moself India Logistics Pvt. Ltd , Mrs. Surhuda Kulkarni-Corporate Trainer , Marvelous Trainer Forum, Mrs. Meeta Kanhere-Corporate Trainer and Consultant and Mr. Prashant Nimbalkar-Corporate Trainer, World Wide Makers.
Dr. D. G. Deshkar who is also an author of 35 text books of commerce stream addressed about past and present Indian scenario regarding entrepreneurship, how British would carry out unethical business practices and do lots of injustice to Indian businessmen. However presently, plethora of opportunities is available in India for budding entrepreneurs which can be seized by the youth. He clarified about various organizations that provide business loans in different situations and phases of start ups. Work experience will help to avoid pitfalls to certain extent. In order to become a successful entrepreneur, he insisted that one must carry out regular Self Analysis and SWOT analysis. This will help entrepreneurs to invest their energy at the right time and place to be the best of their capabilities. If one wants to be an Entrepreneur he must put Passion, zeal and Enthusiasm in everything towards it.
Mr. Amit Singh got students through real life examples of various eminent personalities, companies and their systematic, disciplined working. His attempt was to clarify how small companies became major conglomerates. He shared his views with some real life examples of Narayan Murthi, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Mark Zukerberg. He asserted on the importance of reading Business magazines and business sections of newspapers. Mr. Amit Singh also highlighted on inculcating self discipline to be a successful entrepreneur which would also help students stand out in crowd and prove themselves in today’s competitive world.
Mrs. Surhuda Kulkarni started with interactive game suggesting “Any small idea can lead to a huge business opportunity”. It is a misconception that all types of startups require huge capital. There are lots of opportunities to start a business which are in line with Green environment and are ecofriendly. She stressed upon focusing and pursuing Entrepreneurial dreams. An entrepreneur must have a burning desire of converting dream into reality. An entrepreneur should not think of failure, he/she should be driven by ideas to make it reality.
Mrs. Meeta Kanhere addressed about the important entrepreneurial skills required. She suggested for Psychometric test, as these tests indicate personal strength which then help in grooming students and developing required skills.
Mr. Prashant Nimbalkar carried out an activity regarding personality traits and aspects about life success. He encouraged students to participate in business quizzes and instructed students about imbibing positive habits, integrity, order, work life balance and truthfulness.
The session was well received by the students as they were involved and discussed about Entrepreneurship development.
